How it works
From “what does done mean?” to a signed-off plan
Write the plan
Say what should happen, what may be changed, where, and when to stop. Then list the acceptance criteria: the checks that show the work is done, each with its task, how it will be checked and the evidence it needs.
Revise without losing history
Every save creates a new numbered version, called a revision. Earlier revisions are kept, and an edit based on an out-of-date revision is refused instead of overwriting newer work. Evidence belongs to one revision, so a new revision starts over.
Record evidence, then run each gate
A gate is KitAxis’s check that a criterion, and every criterion it depends on, has evidence recorded. KitAxis lists what is still missing, in plain language, until the revision is ready.
Sign off on the exact revision
You approve by re-entering your password. The approval is tied to that exact revision and expires after an hour. Only a revision that shows Ready can be approved.

What you could plan with it
KitAxis suits one person who hands work off, or does it with an AI assistant, and wants the checks agreed before the work starts. In the beta, each workspace belongs to one account.
A release
List the checks that must hold before you ship, record the evidence as each one is done, and see which ones are still missing before you call it finished.
A change to a live system
Write down the scope, the environment and the stop conditions before you start, and sign off on the exact revision you reviewed.

What you get today
Everything below is deployed in the beta and covered by automated tests. The full list, with its limits, is on the What you get page.
Plans with acceptance criteria
Outcome, scope, environment, what is out of scope, when to stop, and up to 100 acceptance criteria with dependencies between them, as long as the whole plan fits in 24 KB.
Revision history
Plans are never edited in place. Each change is a new, numbered revision, earlier revisions are kept, and each approval names the revision it covers. You can open any earlier revision to read it; none can be changed.
Evidence on the record
Record what was done against each criterion, with an optional SHA-256 fingerprint of the result. Evidence is permanent and labelled as client-reported.
Readiness, criterion by criterion
Blocked, reviewing, ready or cancelled, with the reasons. A criterion can be marked not applicable only with a written rationale.
Password-confirmed sign-off
Approvals need your password again, name the exact revision and expire after an hour. You can revoke one right after making it.
Private workspaces
Organise work into workspaces and projects. No other KitAxis user can open them: anyone else gets “not found”.

What KitAxis does not do
So you know exactly what a green “Ready” means. KitAxis states these limits wherever you might assume otherwise.
- It never runs your plan.KitAxis stores and checks the plan. You, or the tools you choose, do the work.
- It does not verify evidence.Evidence is client-reported; not independently verified by KitAxis. It is labelled that way everywhere it appears.
- “Ready” is not permission.Ready means complete and evidenced for this revision; not execution approval, and not certification.
- KitAxis runs no AI on your content.It makes no AI model calls with your plans, does not use your content to train models, and never sells it. An assistant you connect handles what it reads under its provider’s terms.
AI assistants
Connect your AI assistant
In the beta · tested with Claude Code
Once you approve it on a KitAxis page, a connected AI assistant can draft plans, record evidence and check readiness in KitAxis, over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Tested with Claude Code; other assistants have not been tested yet. It can never approve anything, and you can disconnect it in the web app.
KitAxis is independent of, and not endorsed by, Anthropic, OpenAI or any AI assistant provider.
